Job Description
Abercrombie & Fitch is seeking a talented Associate Analyst to join our Revenue Accounting team. The Revenue Accounting Team attests to the accuracy and completeness of reported sales and ensures all forms of payment – cash, debit, credit, and alternative payment methods - are received, accounted for, and reconciled with sales. The Revenue Accounting Team is responsible for all brands; domestic and international; online and in-store transactions. The team partners with IT, Store Operations, Treasury, Asset Protection and Finance to manage the sales and payments processes to ensure operations are efficient, thorough, and in-line with the ever-changing business needs.
This job is located at our Global Home Office in Columbus, Ohio.
What Will You Be Doing?
- Reconcile global in-store and online non-cash payments
- Increase efficiencies, tighten controls, reduce risk, and leverage cash using Trintech’s ReconNET™
- Question the current processes, drive improvements, set the team up for success
- Partner with Finance, point of sale and direct to consumer IT teams to validate sale transactions through timely, complete, and accurate payment reconciliations
- Support A&F Co. in its omni-channel and payment expansion efforts
- Month-end close entries, reporting and expense projections
- Demonstrate understanding of actual results in correlation to monthly projections; react accordingly
What Do You Need To Bring?
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business, or related experience
- 1-2 years of experience with business intelligence solutions (e.g., Oracle Business Intelligence) preferred
- Full understanding of basic accounting principles (e.g., revenue recognition, expense matching)
- Strong data mining skills (Experience with Peoplesoft, Hyperion, Excel or ABI)
- Aptitude to draw a correlation among data points, trouble shoot, and action resolution
- Ability to reconcile large volumes of data using Excel and/or third-party reconciliation software
- Creative approach to problem solving with a humble, team-oriented, and optimistic attitude
- Flexibility to adapt and work in a fast-paced, structured environment
- Strong communicator with a focus on process improvement and job efficiency
- A collaborative approach to working with cross-functional partners to achieve the vision of the brand
