Role Description:

We are looking for an analyst to join our finance team and help us set up a more scalable process to manage and optimize our manufacturing costs. You will collect, analyze, and report on cost data using various software tools such as Acumatica, Adaptive Planning, ServiceNow, and Excel. You will also assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis and provide recommendations to improve our profitability and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain cost accounting policies and procedures
  • Collect and maintain cost information and data from various sources, such as invoices, purchase orders, inventory records, and production reports
  • Analyze and report on cost variances, margins, and profitability by product, customer, and business unit
  • Develop and update standard costs and overhead rates for manufactured goods and monitor actual costs against standards
  • Perform cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis and scenario modeling to support decision-making and planning
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reports and forecasts and assist in month-end and year-end closing activities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to provide cost insights and recommendations for improving business performance and efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, policies, and procedures, and maintain accurate and complete cost accounting records
  • Support internal and external audits and reviews and provide relevant documentation and information as needed
  • Stay updated on cost accounting best practices, trends, and technologies, and identify opportunities for process improvement and automation

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in the manufacturing industry
  • Proficient in using Acumatica (or another cloud-based ERP software), Adaptive Planning, and Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to our manufacturing facilities 
  • Knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting standards and methods
