Key Responsibilities:

  • Precision Production: Utilize precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures to measure dimensions of finished workpieces, ensuring adherence to specifications.
  • Tooling and Setup: Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and workpieces on machines using hand tools and precision measuring instruments, guaranteeing optimal performance.
  • Machine Maintenance: Stop machines to remove finished workpieces or adjust tooling, setup, or workpiece placement as needed. Maintain proper lubrication and cooling during operation.
  • Programming and Troubleshooting: Insert control instructions into machine control units and review program specifications or blueprints to determine and set machine operations and sequencing. Listen for signs of issues such as dull cutting tools or excessive vibration, adjusting machines accordingly.
  • Monitoring and Adjustment: Monitor machine operation and control panel displays, comparing readings to specifications to detect malfunctions. Modify cutting programs to address encountered problems and save modified programs.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the engineering team to optimize machining processes and develop innovative solutions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols and best practices.
  • Assist in training new team members on CNC Lathe operations and procedures as needed.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience or relevant education in CNC machining.
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with micrometers and other measurement devices for quality assurance
