About this position:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing data mapping, data quality management, metadata management, and master data management, as well as conducting in-depth data analysis to inform and progress our current and future data operating models. The Data Engineer will play a critical role in shaping our data architecture and ensuring the integrity and quality of our data assets.

Salary Range: 115k-125k - commensurate with the candidate's skills, experience, location, and qualifications.

On a day-to-day basis you will:

  1. Utilize Office 365 Applications, Visio, and Oracle SQL Developer for various data-related tasks.
  2. Clean and preprocess raw data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  3. Identify and remediate data anomalies (e.g., missing values, outliers, duplication of records, data inconsistencies) via developing and executing Oracle Data Manipulation Language (DML) statements against production data.
  4. Transform data into a suitable format for analysis purposes.
  5. Perform statistical analyses and data mining to identify trends and patterns.
  6. Generate reports, charts, and visualizations to convey insights visually.
  7. Communicate findings and insights to non-technical stakeholders clearly.
  8. Continuously monitor and Implement data validation checks to identify errors and inconsistencies, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
  9. Perform data mapping, data quality management, metadata management, and master data management
  10. Perform analysis, document findings and recommendations, and develop data architecture artifacts that inform and progress the current and future data operating models (data profiling and data analysis)
  11. Draft and tune Oracle SQL queries to support ad-hoc and recurring reporting needs from stakeholders

Required Education/Qualifications:

  • Clearance: MUST be fully adjudicated & maintain a Top Secret security clearance or higher.
  • Associate/bachelor's degree with 3+ years of proven experience in data engineering, data analysis, data quality management, and metadata management.
  • Security + certification or higher (e.g. CISSP), required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Applications, Visio, and Oracle SQL Developer.
  • Strong expertise in data analysis, data architecture, and data services development.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, effectively collaborating with various stakeholders.
  • Advanced analytical and troubleshooting skills with good problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience working with and supporting Agile development teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or Pentaho Report Designer) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of data governance and data management best practices is also a plus.
