Weekly Guarantee: 36 hours
Pay Rate: $55 per hour
Notes:
- Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM Weekends - Required.
- Holidays: Required.
- On Call: Optional.
- LSW/LCSW or LAC/LPC License: Required.
- BLS-AHA: Required.
- Experience working in Emergency Psychiatric Services/"Crisis" or inpatient behavioral health settings is preferred, but not required. SOMC Emergency Psychiatric Service - providing treatment in the Emergency Dept for patients presenting with acute psychiatric symptoms. Position operates on a 3-week rotation, Every 3rd weekend will need coverage and days during the week vary.
Job Summary: The Licensed Master Social Worker (LSW) provides treatment to patients under the clinical supervision of an LCSW, utilizing various modalities as a member of the clinical treatment team in ambulatory and/or inpatient units.
Essential Job Functions:- Provides comprehensive assessment of patients' psychosocial needs under LCSW supervision; develops treatment plans and conducts treatment plan reviews based on findings and department policy.
- Offers effective treatment, assessment, or therapy; communicates and interprets information to staff, families, or authorized agencies.
- Completes timely written reports as per Medical Center or Agency policy.
- Provides psychotherapeutic services following state Board of Social Work Examiners regulations, interpreting information based on patient needs, growth, development, and treatment range.
- Conducts individual and group psychotherapy under LCSW supervision, adhering to current professional and licensing organization standards.
- Offers comprehensive case management and psychosocial assessments.
- Develops discharge plans collaboratively with patients, families, caregivers, support persons, and healthcare teams for maximum patient benefit.
- Ensures discharge plans meet least restrictive environment criteria and patient continuing care needs.
- Confirms patient has primary care provider post-discharge or refers to Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).
- Regularly reassesses and revises care goals and plans based on patient needs.
- Ensures medical records reflect weekly reassessment of patient discharge plans due to medical status changes.
- Collaborates with treatment team to enhance patient service.
- Maintains patient records in accordance with legal and Medical Center policies.
- Assists mental health colleagues during emergencies.
- Contributes interdisciplinary team expertise in specialized program care, treatment, and services.
- Lifts, pushes, and pulls minimum weights; stands minimum hours daily.
- Identifies patient population needs, modifying and delivering age/culturally-specific care (language, hearing/visual impairment).
- Adheres to Medical Center Organizational Competency standards.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Conducts psychosocial assessments and formulates treatment plans.
- Applies crisis intervention theory in various medical settings.
- Recognizes psychopathology, performs differential diagnosis, and applies treatment techniques.
