The Cleveland Museum of Art is seeking a temporary Stewardship Coordinator for a 4-month assignment. This position will work Monday – Friday, from 9:00am – 5:00pm, and the hours may vary according to the needs of the department; some evenings will be required for special event support. This position will assist with coordinating and implementing strategic stewardship communications developed within the office.

This role will also liaise between interest-based affinity groups and internal staff to plan events and programs and assist group members. This position will also assist with special events organized by the Philanthropy Special Events and Engagement Manager.

Requirements and Key Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in business, art history, art/design, marketing/communication, or non-profit management, with a focus on writing preferred, and at least two years of experience working in communications/writing focused or stewardship / special events position.
  • Effective and accurate verbal and written communication skills are necessary. Ability to write reports and correspondence and speak effectively with members, donors.
  • Ability to write meaningful and impactful donor correspondence and experience doing so in a professional manner.
  • Experience working within complex organizations with ability to be a team player and able multi-task. Flexible and solutions oriented with ability to maintain composure and work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate experience using databases to track and analyze information and proficient in Microsoft systems including Excel. Experience with Tessitura, or similar database and tools such as Zoom, Canva, Teams, and similar platforms. Experience in InDesign a plus.
  • Able to work select evenings for stewardship events.

Responsibilities

  • Direct support role in producing large-scale communication work including annual report and quarterly members magazine Cleveland Art
  • Coordinates museum’s annual honor roll
  • Drafting and sending event invitation and other member and donor communications
  • Coordinating copyeditor reviews
  • Web editing on CMA's website
  • Creating annual Stewardship overview
  • Receive guests at philanthropy events and assist in managing hospitality.
  • Create materials for donor events (menus, booklets, maps, takeaways)
  • Primary liaison for three of the CMA’s affinity groups – Friends of Photography, Friends of African and African American Art, and Textile Art Alliance. Provide support for board meetings, manage programs, maintain group membership rosters, oversee group membership renewals.
