The Industrial Equipment Factory Acceptance Testing Technician, internally titled as Test Pit Technician, at Aqua-Chem performs basic installations, troubleshooting, software and performance testing (Factory Acceptance Test / Software Operational Test / support of Site Acceptance Test) of equipment.
Schedule: FT, 2nd Shift; Monday - Thursday, 4:00pm - 2:30am (OT may be required on occasional Fridays)
Location: Onsite; Knoxville, TN
Pay Range: $25.00 - $35.00/hr (Dependent on Experience) +10% Shift Differential
Benefits: Group Medical, Dental Vision, 401(k) Match, Paid Vacation, Paid Holidays, and Paid Sick Time. +Employer Paid Benefits: STD, LTD, Life AD&D
Essential Duties:
- Must possess thorough and relevant product knowledge (Process Controls, Instrumentation, PLC Programming, Motor Controls, Fluid Systems).
- Position requires regular exercise of problem solving skills.
- Performs basic installations, troubleshooting, software and performance testing of equipment. Works from engineering drawings (P&ID, Electrical Schematics) and specifications, detailed written and verbal instructions and/or technical manuals.
- Must be self-directed and able to work both independently and as a team member.
- Completes required job documentation, FAT reports, SOT reports, operational data reports, etc.
- Must be able to connect electrical, water and steam to the equipment being tested
- Position requires the flexibility to travel up to 25% of the time to support customers.
- Comprehend and follow ISO procedures to ensure compliance with the standard(s).
- Must know, understand, and abide by all plant safety rules and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned/required by Supervisor or Manager
Education/Experience:
- Technical degree in related field, plus 2 years training, preferred.
- 2-5 years experience with electrical or automation systems
- PLC programming and HMI configuration
- Knowledge of Water Purification and Heat Exchanger Equipment a plus
- Basic shop math and measurement skills
- Basic reading and interpretation of blueprints/drawings
Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must be able to work up to 12 hours standing and walking on cement surfaces and will be required to regularly bend, stretch, stoop, squat, climb ladders, and climb stairs.
- Must be able to work in temperature ranges corresponding to the outside ambient temperatures.
- Will require working in areas up to 15 feet from the ground.
- Able to work overtime as required
