What You'll Do:

The Talent Program Coordinator will coordinate all aspects of WMHCC's talent development and talent advancement program delivery, executing both the LEADeres and Futuro Leaders Fellowship programs. This role will manage the daily functions of program execution from student recruitment to workshop facilitation and event planning. You will spearhead initiatives aimed at enhancing the professional skills and career prospects of our fellows. This role is ideal for someone who has strong facilitation and relationship-building skills, is eager to make an impact while growing in a dynamic environment, and has a passion for the West Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce's mission of economic advancement and LatinX community development.

We're looking for a talented individual who is eager to foster community and culture while engaging with students, higher education staff, and local business leaders to advance the work and programs, who will:

  • First and foremost, align to our mission and values as an organization.
  • Apply your bachelor's degree in Higher Education Student Services, Education, Business, or related field to innovate and execute the daily functions of our talent development programs.
  • Strategic Recruitment: Collaborate to execute innovative recruitment strategies to attract Latino college students to the Fellowship program and Latino professionals to the LEADeres program, connecting them with resources to advance their careers. Attend virtual and in-person recruitment events at Michigan colleges, universities, and professional organizations.
  • Content Creation: Create engaging marketing materials and workshop content tailored to the needs of our fellows. Collaborate with Chamber partners to implement impactful professional development workshops. Nurture our program culture by creating opportunities for learning, accountability, connection, and goal setting. Seeking continuous feedback that helps maintain and improve program quality and integrity.
  • Individual Coaching: Collaborate with the Coaching Navigator to provide personalized coaching and support to fellows, assisting them with career goal setting and accessing resources to advance their professional journeys.
  • Mentorship and Talent Training: Provide mentorship, support, and training to fellows contributing to their professional development and growth within the workforce.
  • Program Management: Manage all aspects of the LEADeres and Futuro Leaders Fellowship program, including application review, acceptance decisions, communications, and logistics coordination for workshops and events.
  • Community Engagement: Represent the Talent Development team and the Chamber at networking and community events, fostering relationships with partner organizations and stakeholders. Utilize your excellent interpersonal communication skills to work collaboratively with key leaders (university personnel, Chamber partners, and session facilitators) throughout West Michigan.
  • Have a strong cultural competence and understanding of college student engagement, higher education infrastructure, professional development, and relationship management in both college and corporate settings. Ability to communicate in Spanish required. Experience mentoring Latinx young professionals and working with corporate program partners is a plus
  • Dig in and show up. This is a hybrid role, with up to 15% travel required and some availability to occasionally work Saturdays and evenings is required.
