Job DescriptionJob DescriptionQuintech Electronics & Communications, Inc. is seeking a Staff Accountant whose primary duties will include being responsible for all accounts payable and receivable activities in the office to include preparation, review and maintenance of records and assistance with reports and account reconciliations.
Additional Duties:
  1. Receives and reviews vendor invoices, check requests and/or other related documentation for completeness and compliance with financial procedures and contractual requirements.
  2. Print and review payable aging reports on a biweekly basis. See to it that vendors are paid in a timely manner according to proper procedures.
  3. Initiate, track and maintain all records/files associated with payment activities for each account to include negotiated payment schedules, and telephone call documentation.
  4. Assist with reconciling GL accounts at month end.
  5. Maintain accurate vendor and customer information in database according to company procedures. Review on a quarterly basis to ensure all customer AP and AR contacts are still active with the vendor/customer.
  6. Research and respond to all accounts payable inquiries in a prompt manner.
  7. Research and investigate circumstances, monitors and controls non-payments, delayed payments, and other anomalies.
  8. Receive and review vendor invoices, check requests and/or other related documentation for completeness and compliance with financial procedures. Work with the purchasing department to resolve any discrepancies.
  9. Match original invoice and requests for payment with internal purchase orders/check requests.
  10. Review open purchase orders on a bi-weekly basis and consult with purchasing on what is needed to close.
  11. Assist in the month closing by assuring all appropriate information is entered into the Accounting Program and reviewing and updating aging report for discrepancies.
  12. Review/reconcile open checks on the last day of each month.
  13. Assist with weekly flash reports regarding Accounts Payable.
  14. Assist with month end close by ensuring all information is entered into computer.
  15. Cross-train in Accounts Receivable, invoicing, and collections to cover tasks during time off.
  16. Cross-train in job costing and job closing to cover during time off.
  17. Perform other related duties as assigned and adhere to company policies and procedures.
Candidate Requirements:
Associate’s degree or higher in Accounting or other related field.
At least two or more years of prior accounting experience is preferred.
Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
Position continuously requires demonstrated professionalism, tact and diplomacy.
Work requires attention to detail with demonstrated ability to multi-task, especially in terms of planning/organizing, budgeting and project management.
Must have knowledge of typical business operations and working use of a variety of office equipment and computer software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, database & presentation software (MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, etc).
Must possess accounting skills such as present value analysis, ratio analysis, cost estimating, etc.
Must have the ability to understand departmental operations and procedures.
Position is a full-time, daylight position, M-F 7:30am-3:30pm
