And we’re looking for an Applications Engineering Intern

About the position:

This is an exciting opportunity to apply classroom knowledge and learn new skills in the high tech industry. The Intern will be an integral member of a team in Applications Engineering that supports the US Business Unit promoting E Ink displays.

The opportunity requires applying software programming in a hands on environment. Projects are application focused and will include opportunities to write code and see the results first hand when applied to E Ink displays. The Intern will work with other Applications Engineers to integrate new software into existing platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write firmware on embedded platforms to control E Ink displays and display sub-systems
  • Write software applications for Android that controls E Ink displays over Bluetooth
  • Develop software for E Ink Prism 3 that creates special effects on dynamic surfaces
  • Write application notes and guides that will serve as instructions for others to reproduce software in their own environment

Qualifications

  • Major in Computer Science or Software Engineering
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Ability to program in C, C++, or Python
  • Experience with Arduino and Raspberry Pi a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage own schedule to accomplish tasks in parallel

Benefits

The anticipated base pay for this position is $30 per hour, DOE, for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay Area.
