Job DescriptionJob Description


The position of Technical Designer is responsible producing site-specific permit and production drawings. The designer must  be able to interpret and formulate information provided by sales staff, project managers, customer service representatives, estimators, production staff, and client representatives to produce accurate fabrication drawings for client approval, permit acquisition and computerized machining programs. 

DUTIES 

  • Produce account specific drawings including but not limited to print files, LED layouts and specifications, bill of materials including  details and descriptions as well as construction techniques 

  • Work with production as well as other departments to ensure that design is feasible and design solutions are satisfactory 

  • Work with production to identify manufacturing limitations and adjust accordingly 

  • Assist staff in developing criteria for each project assigned, to ensure the project develops in a way that best suits the client's needs and maintains the proposed project timeline 

  • Participate in continuous professional development in order to remain cutting edge 

To become a part of our team we require applicants for our Designer position to have the following qualifications: 

SKILLS 

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office 

  • Creative thinking demonstrated by identifying new methods and applications 

  • Great mechanical aptitude 

  • Collaborations skills 

  • Ability to understand architecture, constructions drawings and read blue prints 

  • Organized, detail and results oriented 

  • Ability to prioritize and handle numerous issues simultaneously 

EDUCATION 

  • Two year Engineering Degree or the equivalent of training, education and experience 

EXPERIENCE 

  • CAD based programs, Hands on mechanical/construction background, Mechanical engineering experience in Designer, service or similar industry.  Sign industry experience preferred
