The Inventory Assistant supports the Inventory Manager in maintaining an accurate and efficient inventory system. This role involves tracking inventory levels, managing stock, ensuring proper storage, and facilitating the smooth operation of inventory processes. The Inventory Assistant will work closely with other departments to ensure the availability of necessary items and assist in maintaining a clean and organized warehouse.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records by performing regular counts and reconciliations.
Update inventory management system with data on stock levels, transfers, and adjustments.
Monitor stock levels and report discrepancies or low stock situations to the Inventory Manager.
Stock Control:
Receive and inspect incoming shipments, verifying their quantity and quality.
Ensure proper labeling and storage of inventory items.
Assist in organizing and managing inventory storage areas to maximize space and efficiency.
Assist in preparing and processing purchase orders and invoices.
Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of orders.
Facilitate the distribution of inventory items to various departments as needed.
Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, including receipts, issues, and returns.
Prepare regular reports on inventory status, discrepancies, and other relevant metrics.
Assist in the development and implementation of inventory policies and procedures.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with warehouse staff, procurement team, and other relevant departments to ensure smooth inventory operations.
Provide support during physical inventory counts and audits.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in logistics, supply chain management, or related field is a plus.
Previous experience in inventory management, warehousing, or related field preferred.
Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
