Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Analyst who will be responsible for supporting various accounting functions and providing valuable insights to inform business decisions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

 

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Processes monthly journal entries and assists in preparation of monthly G/L expense accruals while ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
  • Performs monthly reconciliations; analyzes various G/L accounts and balances intercompany transactions monthly.
  • Obtains and maintains thorough understanding of financial reporting and general ledger structure supporting of budget and forecasting activities.
  • Mentor/ liaison with Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R).
  • Assists in sales and use tax reporting and filings, audit as required.
  • Supports audits and related processes, both internal and external.
  • Ad hoc reporting requests that fall within the scope of this position.
  • Assists in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance workflow of department.
  • Performs other duties assigned by management that fall within the generally expected scope of this position.
  • Abides by safety procedures and practices applicable to location and position; participates in appropriate safety training; demonstrates commitment to and support of EH&S principles and values; champions safety as necessary.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ relevant work experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing industry, strongly preferred.
  • AP/ AR.
  • Sales tax; local and multi-state.
  • Payroll accounting.
  • Managing credit card programs.
  • Lease Accounting
  • Asset Accounting
  • Foreign Currency Accounting a plus
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial systems and reporting; ERP implementation experience a plus.
  • Excellent analytical skills and abilities; multi-task person; project management skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial systems and reporting; ERP implementation experience a plus Experience with SAP, Blackline, D365 – Microsoft Dynamics and Avalara; highly preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills, including ability to easily use MS Office suite, ability to create and manipulate. spreadsheets with macros, XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, etc.
  • Excellent English communications skills, both oral and written. In-depth knowledge of business, Company policies, rules, regulations, processes, and procedures.

 

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in accounting

 

SPECIAL DEMANDS

  • This job primarily operates in a professional office environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines, etc. Noise level is typically low. Frequently in a stationary, sitting position for prolonged periods of time. Regularly moves about inside the office to complete tasks, attend meetings or to access the copy machine or file cabinets. Periodically pulls/pushes doors open to move around the office. Occasionally may lift and carry objects up to 20 pounds.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
