POSITION TITLE: Resource Coordinator

SALARY PLACEMENT: Teacher Salary Schedule

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING:

Requires a Bachelors degree with preference toward a masters degree in counseling. Two (2) Four (4) years

experience working with high school students in an academic setting. Special Education Credential and Resource

Specialist Certificate preferred.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Under the direction of the Vice Principal of Academics, the College Counselor will organize, maintain and operate a

high school College & Career Office and provide a wide variety of career information and materials; communicate

with students, faculty, parents and community representatives concerning career planning and college entrance. The

candidate for the position of College Counselor shall be committed to Catholic education and capable of providing

spiritual and educational leadership to students.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Essential functions may include, but are not limited to the following:

1. Evaluates students for the purpose of identifying student needs.

2. Interpret math and reading assessments for students who fall below 2.00.

3. Coordinates all College Board (PSAT, SAT, ACT and AP) formal accommodations for families for these

standardized tests.

4. Regularly check-in with students on caseload.

5. As needed, oversees medical caseload by enacting emergency plans for designated students.

6. As needed will consult about available off-campus learning options.

7. Proctors extended timed tests (student may start test in class and finish with resource coordinator or may

take entire test with coordinator).

8. Follow-up with parents of students with IEP from public schools.

9. Attends IEP meetings.

10. Assess all incoming 9th grade cum files.

11. Coordinates peer tutoring after school.

12. Develops student accommodation plans.

13. BYU independent study coordinator - monitors student progress and administers tests.

14. Proctor exams at various times throughout the day.

15. Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Employees in this position must have the ability to:

1. Sit and stand for extended periods of time.

2. Exhibit manual dexterity to dial a telephone, to enter data into a computer, and to perform assigned classroom

tasks using both hands.

3. See and read a computer screen and printed matter with or without vision aids.

4. Hear and understand speech at normal classroom levels and outdoors and on the telephone.

5. Speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in normal classrooms, outdoors, and on the

telephone.

6. Physical agility to lift up to 25 pounds to shoulder height and 50 pounds to waist height; and to bend, to stoop,

to sit on the floor, to climb stairs, to walk and to reach overhead.
