Some travel required.

Technical Focus Areas

This position is to develop and implement new software to enhance the Tactical Assault Kit X – Radio Frequency (TAKX-RF) for supported Department of Defense (DoD) customers. TAKX-RF is used to plan electromagnetic spectrum operations (EMSO) and manage EMSO capabilities across the DoD.

 

The Role

You will work closely with our team and customers to integrate requirements, articulate challenges and provide solutions. You will be an integral contributor to the development of TAKX-RF, and its integration with EMSO capabilties. It will be your responsibility to design and implement TAKX-RF plugins for use by EMSO professionals across the DoD.  In addition, you will integrate TAKX-RF with our EMSO Platform as a Service (EPaaS) to provide our warfighters with access to advanced EMSO capabilities.

The Computer Programmer responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing EMSO applications within an existing software architecture.
  • Working in a tailored Agile software development process; includes understanding software requirements and use cases, designing software architectures and user interfaces, implementing source to design specifications, testing developed software to include unit tests and automated functional test scripts, and updating software documentation as appropriate. Additionally, the position requires the ability to analyze, debug, and correct reported issues and enhancements.
  • Possess strong software development skills throughout the software development life cycle and work well in a collaborative team environment.
  • Develop and test software using a tailored Agile development methodology. Due to the ultra-collaborative nature of the development, the position offers tremendous opportunity to further grow and evolve development and testing skills.
  • Be familiar with Java and C++ development languages for development of Android and Windows-based software. The Android software is integrated with the ATAK software suite while the Windows solution integrates with WinTAK.
  • Researches, designs, develops, and/or modifies enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software.

This position also requires quarterly travel in support of Program Increment Planning with the customer. Additional travel opportunities are available for further developing customer relationships.

 

Qualifications

Education:

● Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other fields related to this position from an accredited college or university, as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

 

Minimal Qualifications:

● Knowledge of basic coding languages including Java and C++ and basic progamming experience.

● Basic understanding of software development processes.

● Analytical and problem-solving skills.

● Experience working in an agile development environment.

● Ability to collaboratively work in hybrid team environments.

● Strong, efficient, and effective written and oral communication skills.

● Strong organizational skills.

● Comfortable working with emerging technologies.

● Ability to rapidly respond to customer directed requests.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

● Previous experience utilizing development tools including Jira, Confluence, and GitLab.

● Previous experience utilizing Agile or Scaled Agile Framework.

● Familiarity with TAK product line architectures.

● Ability to work collaboratively under indirect supervision.

Required Clearance:

● Minimum active Secret clearance
