The Purchasing Manager is a full-time on-site position located at the main headquarters in Perrysburg, OH. The Purchasing Manager will report into the President/CEO.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Purchasing Manager will oversee the purchasing activities of the organization. The Purchasing Manager is responsible for the purchasing and reselling goods, materials, and services to ensure that the company's operation needs are met. Additionally, they would consider and negotiate price, quality, and delivery to ensure continuity of supply.

  • Support the vision, mission, and guiding principles of the company.
  • Purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact on business operations.
  • Analyze and interpret financial reports, ERP system, project plans, etc., to align purchasing with overall project and departmental goals.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers.
  • Research and evaluate areas of opportunity with suppliers, products, and reduce costs where possible.
  • Deliver briefs, updates, and reports as and when required.
  • Develop creative and innovative procurement processes.
  • Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement.
  • Negotiate contracts, improve prices, and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilizing negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods.
  • Assess and evaluate suppliers and undertake performance reviews to ensure contract compliance and manage performance improvement activities.
  • Analyzes data from multiple sources: ERP system, Google Docs, MS Office, etc. to generate reports, calculations, or summaries for purchasing related activities.
  • Ensure that a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationships.
  • Assess tenders and quotations from potential suppliers.
  • Prepare purchase orders in line with final negotiations with selected suppliers and in line with organizational targets and requirements.
  • Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery, or invoice issues.
  • Interact with clients to collect specifications, present options, or perform research.
  • Interact with sales & management teams as needed for pricing approvals.
  • Make recommendations and offer solutions for client requests.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Must have high integrity, good attention to detail; and be dependable.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in either Business, Marketing, or Supply Chain Management degree and/or combination of equivalent relevant experience.
  • Proven purchasing experience (manufacturing environment a plus)
  • Strong understanding of accounting and purchasing practices and principles.
  • Ability to add value, reduce costs and make business improvements
  • Contract management and supplier experience
  • Project management experience
  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of supply chain management

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Lifting, carrying up to 50 pounds (Occasionally)
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
