Position Overview

Based anywhere in the U.S. the Associate Product Manager, Center Management will be an integral member of the Product team and a key driver of Teaching Strategies' continued evolution as a digital SaaS company. You will be responsible for supporting the strategy, product planning, and overall success of our new center management tools. This includes the launch of a Center Management tool to support our customers in their billing, HR, and CRM processes.

As an Associate Product Manager, you will be responsible for working in close cooperation with the Director of Product Management in setting and then driving execution against the strategy and roadmap. You will also partner closely with other product managers, scrum masters, developers, and UX/UI designers to drive the development, testing, rollout, and evolution of center management tools that customers love. You can expect to engage directly in roadmap planning, prioritizing bugs, and everything in-between. You will be responsible for understanding the needs of customer end-users, business objectives, and breaking down complexity into well-articulated user stories, requirements, and acceptance criteria with our technology team.

Specific Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Wear an "Associate Product Manager" hat for one or more agile scrum team​(s)
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, UI/UX, Engineers, internal stakeholders, and customers to create solutions to meaningful customer and business problems
  • Translate high-level vision and solution designs into user stories w/ clear acceptance criteria and necessary requirements that are ready for development to begin.
  • Engage with customers and customer-facing stakeholders as-needed to validate new concepts and prototypes, collect beta feedback, and inform short- and long-term prioritization decisions​.
  • Work directly with the Product Management team and Engineering Managers to ensure the product backlog is groomed and prioritized to best achieve product vision and organizational goals​.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, QA, and DevOps to build the context and confidence to prioritize user stories, bugs, security issues, tech debt, and other key items
  • Track and report on product health metrics, progress to organizational goals, and roadmap milestones
  • Actively understand, communicate, and manage risk
  • Assist Project Managers, Marketing, and Product Support w/ translating technical details for tech and non-tech audiences (e.g., release notes, updates, training, etc.)​
  • Attend all agile scrum ceremonies and represent the voice of the customer.
  • Support Product Managers with market research, competitive analysis, product usage analysis, and product discovery research as needed.
  • Create and edit customer facing knowledge base articles to ensure our support resources stay up-to-date.
  • Partner with customer support and partner success teams to serve as a go-to resource for prioritizing strategic feedback and engaging in continuous discovery.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience designing and delivering SaaS or consumer software products in cross-functional teams, preferably on a product management team
  • 1+ years of experience working with cross-functional agile/scrum teams as a product manager in an agile development environment
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, agile environment
  • The ability to drive decision making and be seen as a trusted thought-partner with Engineering, QA, Design, and Product leaders
  • Able to produce results independently as well as collaboratively in a cross-functional team
  • Bachelor's degree (CS, Engineering, or UI/UX are a plus, but not required)
  • Experience working in early childhood education or educational measurement is a plus
