We are looking for a Machinist to join our Eljen team in Sweetwater, Texas The Machinist will operate machine tools to fabricate and manufacture machine parts and other components as required for our customers.
Duties / Responsibilities
- Operate fabrication machinery to produce parts used in manufacturing processes.
- Read and interpret blueprints and design sketches to ensure proper dimensions and specifications for parts.
- Selects the appropriate cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and material to be used on machines.
- Examine and measure completed units and parts to identify any defects and to ensure units conform with predetermined specifications; adjusts machine controls to resolve production errors.
- Inspects machinery for any needed repairs; perform minor repairs within expertise.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of work area.
- Comply with company and industry safety standards and regulations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Ability to operate various types of machine tools to perform progressive machining.
- Ability to read blueprints, plans and designs.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Excellent mechanical skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Organizational skills and attention to detail a must.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Vocational / technical school training or apprenticeship preferred.
- Prolonged periods of standing and bending required.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
- Salary is dependent upon experience.
