The Role

The Academy Group seeks an Chief of Staff to the President who will provide strategic and analytical support to the President by working cross-functionally to manage and translate the President’s priorities to the organization. The primary goal of the role is to function as an extension of the President ensuring strategic vision and operational initiatives are planned, managed, and executed with high fidelity.

The ideal candidate is highly adaptable and eager to meet – and exceed – the needs of our rapidly expanding organization. This individual will excel in the areas of communication, project management skills, and exhibit fluency in innovative thinking. He/she will join a talented, passionate, diverse, and creative group of individuals.


Principle Duties and Responsibilities

● Support the President in effectively working with and communicating with all internal and external stakeholders, including staff, partners, and board members.

● Provide direct support to The President by acting as a strategic collaborator and confidante with specific streams of work or projects.

● Manage and Coordinate Administrative Functions for the President

● Support the President in managing strategic initiatives contributing to the overall organizational strategy.

● Foster positive relationships with members of the Executive Team and collaborate to influence outcomes and maintain project momentum.

● Facilitate the organization and alignment of strategic objectives among the Executive team, ensuring agreement on prioritized initiatives.

● Identify potential risks and opportunities, develop, and implement strategies to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities for growth and impact, while also designing, documenting, and implementing organization-wide processes that improve communication, effectiveness, decision-making, and execution.

● Support efforts to assess and improve organizational effectiveness, efficiency, and impact through ongoing evaluation, learning, and adaptation.

● Improve collaboration across internal and external stakeholders by driving communication, information sharing, and alignment.

● Shape internal leadership communications so that our staff continue to be informed and inspired.

● Support in building a strong organizational culture where teams are cohesive and motivated to achieve shared goals.

Qualifications and Experience

● A Bachelor’s Degree is required and Advanced Degree preferred

● Minimum 5 years of working experience managing complex and/or cross-functional projects and teams.

● Experience working in a high-operating organization with the ability to pivot.

● Outstanding and creative problem-solving, critical thinking, and strategic planning skills.

● Facility to move comfortably between high-level strategic thinking and intricate details.

● Ability to translate and structure complicated information for effective decision-making and progress toward goals.

● Strong project management as well as time and task leadership skills, enabling multiple and large-scale projects to be completed on time.

● Strong collaboration skills, demonstrating an ability to gather inputs, develop recommendations, and generate consensus across teams.

● This role will require occasional travel (once or twice a month)

Location

This position will be based in Chicago. Hybrid: 3 days a week at Chicago Office Headquarters

Travel once or twice a month is expected.

Compensation and Benefits

The Academy Group offers a competitive annual salary and comprehensive medical, vision, dental, and 401K package with a match. 15 paid time off days per year, 10 wellness days, a hybrid work environment (3 days a week at Chicago office headquarters), a monthly cell phone allowance and 13 company holidays per year. The salary range for this position is up to $130,000 and depends upon experience and credentials/certifications.
