Job DescriptionJob Description

Haven House, a program of Child and Family Services, provides survivors of domestic violence with tools to stop the cycle of abuse and build a life free of violence. As the Community Relations Coordinator, this position is responsible for coordinating community partnerships, providing education and awareness, cultivating a portfolio of Haven House donors and managing volunteers for the program.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate community education, including presentations and outreach on domestic violence prevention and Haven House.
  • Oversees all volunteer onboarding and scheduling for non-residential and residential programming at Haven House.
  • Executes the annual holiday giving program, “Toyland.”
  • Develop and maintain a portfolio of Haven House donors including corporations, individuals and foundations.
  • Manage a portfolio of donors and cultivate relationships to enhance the fundraising strategy of Haven House.
  • Learn Raiser’s Edge database for donor communications and prospecting.
  • Coordinate all in-kind donations for Haven House and work with Haven House staff to ensure donations are handled with care and donor intentionality.
  • Assist with the coordination of the annual Fashion Show with a Twist, Haven House’s main fundraiser.
  • Collaborate with Child and Family Services Development and Public Relations Departments to strengthen Haven House branding.
  • Coordinate domestic violence awareness events throughout the community, including October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month and other Agency fundraising activities.
  • Perform other duties as required in conjuncture with Haven House and the Development Department.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in related field preferred
  • 2+ years of fundraising experience preferred
  • Familiarity or previous experience working with families and the community of Western New York preferred
  • Experience with volunteer coordination and donor cultivation, preferred.
  • Possess a valid NYS driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule which could include evenings and weekends.
  • Ideal candidate has proficient public speaking skills, strong writing abilities and a strong sense of empathy.
  • Ability to connect with others enthusiastically.
  • Strong Time management Skills
  • Demonstrated values of diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Be able to access a multi-level building and engage in heavy lifting.
  • Abide by the Code of Ethics set forth by the National Association of Social Workers (NASW).

Competitive Pay Rate of $27.42 per hour based on a 35 hour work week.
