Senior Manager, Learning Experience Design

Job Summary

In this global role, you will be responsible for managing a team of instructional designers focused on creating learning experiences across a multitude of media.

You will be responsible for interfacing with key stakeholders in our customer operations teams in charge of technical operation and engineering, health and safety, security, and environmental training.

You will be responsible for managing external vendors used to create and maintain content and the associated budget and reporting to ensure the most optimal and cost-effective operation of the team.

New technologies are constantly being developed in the Learning and Development space that enhance the learning experience and the content development process. You will be responsible for staying current with new technologies, reviewing them for use and potential implementation, and training your team on their use. This is includes working with artificial intelligence (AI), integrated LMS and assessment tools, and all other components of the technical learning ecosystem.

Understanding how our learning experience is performing is also a critical part of this role and you will need to develop and maintain a strong assessment strategy that can be used to measure the value of training, a return on training investment, and create an optimal mechanism for continuous improvement of the learning experience.

Responsibilities

Training Solutions Program Management

  • Provides support for global training programs

  • Act as liaison between Equinix Subject Matter Experts, vendors, and instructional designers to ensure instructional delivery solutions are accurate and meet learning needs

  • Work with Subject Matter Experts to provide support and guidance on Learning Experience Platform and learning content management

Project Management

  • Plans and executes as per the project objectives, focusing on the operational elements of the project such as meeting deadlines, and completing deliverables

  • Communicates and tracks project objectives

  • Manages the constraints of the project and provides timely status updates

  • Facilitate and provide support to regional training teams to ensure VILT or ILT training is conducted as needed

  • Facilitate vendor relations for new and ongoing training technologies

  • Create and manage purchase orders as needed

Analytics

  • Generates metrics to identify areas of improvement

Qualifications

  • A passion for supporting adult learning programs and tools

  • A deep understanding of learning systems and technologies

  • Highly proficient in computer systems, networking technologies, and applications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for internal customers and external vendors

  • Critical thinking to analyze appropriate solutions to complex training needs and support

  • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment

  • As part of a global team, flexibility in scheduling may be required

  • 5+ years experience required

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
