Clinical Laboratory Laboratory Manager (CLS)
Northridge, CA | Direct Hire | $135,000/yr
Kelly is hiring a CLS Manager that will be responsible for overseeing the productivity and operations of the Clinical Laboratory in manufacturing blood-based products. They ensure clinical regulatory compliance (CLIA, CAP, etc.) in collaboration with senior medical leadership. This position is standard working hours with the exception of occasional weekends.
Essential Responsibilities
\t- Supervise and mentor lab technicians for SOP and GMP compliance.
\t - Develop staff training programs and report proficiency tests.
\t - Maintain professional interactions and image.
\t - Complete GMP collection documents, and review test results.
\t - Lead projects to improve efficiency and evaluate lab equipment needs.
\t - Troubleshoot lab issues and document corrective actions.
\t - Prepare materials for audits and inspections (AABB, FDA, State).
\t - Support budget development and maintain lab inventory.
\t - Perform leukopak processing and blood product testing.
\t - Maintain and validate lab equipment.
\t - Comply with SOPs, cGMPs, and safety rules.
\t - Use blood product information systems.
Supervisory Responsibilities
\t- Direct supervision of CLS/MLTs.
Qualifications
\t- BS/BA in Life Science; MS preferred.
\t - 5+ years laboratory experience with cGMP or GLP preferred.
\t - 2+ years managerial experience.
\t - CA state CLS licensure required.
Technical Skills
\t- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
\t - Ability to learn new software quickly.
\t - Experience with medical and scientific lab equipment.
Additional Skills
\t- Strong time management and compliance with quality standards.
\t - Able to handle confidential matters discreetly.
\t - Clear communication and quantitative data analysis.
\t - Effective prioritization and issue resolution.
Work Environment
\t- Work performed in various environments including shipping, laboratory, and office settings with potential exposure to chemicals and infectious materials.
\t - Frequent lifting or moving items up to 10 pounds; occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
\t - Usage of PPE as required.
