Principal Accountabilities
* Implements radiation protection and safety standards to minimize radiation exposure to staff and patients.
* Maintains a quality assurance program according to regulations established by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
* Maintains mandated continuing education requirements.
* May be required to train / precept students and new techs.
* Operates a variety of complex stationary diagnostic equipment.
* Orders, prepares, administers, and disposes radiopharmaceuticals and/or agents according to established protocols.
* Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
-Skills
* Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision.
* Must be able to work in a rapidly changing and challenging environment and take appropriate actions in emergent situations.

* Access to PHI: The protected health information this position can access is all medical record information. This position requires this patient health information in order to perform the functions outlined as part of this position description.
* Personal Protective Equipment: Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures. Follows Radiation Protection Standards. Cognizant of personal and patient radiation protection practices.
-Physical Requirements: Standing for long periods of time. Alone or as part of a team, ability to safely transfer patients from conveyances to imaging tables or move portable equipment from one location to another is required.
* Preparing or performing procedures will require stooping, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling or standing.
* Has responsibility to treat or care for patients.
