Job Description

UPMC is seeking a full-time Physical Therapist interested in Pelvic Health therapy. This role will work daylight hours Monday through Friday. Prior pelvic health experience is desired, but we will provide mentorship and additional training in pelvic health for the right candidate


The Staff Physical Therapist reviews patient charts, performs initial assessments, develops treatment plans, administers physical therapy treatments and modalities, monitors progress and documents treatments performed with patients (including discharge planning and patient education) in order to increase overall functioning, reduce discomfort, increase or maintain flexibility and range of motion/strength, and achieve other medical and therapeutic goals.

About the Role:
UPMC is looking for a dedicated Physical Therapist with an interest in Pelvic Health. While prior experience is a plus, we offer mentorship and specialized training for the right candidate


Key Responsibilities:



  • Conduct initial assessments and develop personalized treatment plans.


  • Administer physical therapy treatments and monitor patient progress.


  • Communicate patient status with referring physicians and healthcare team members.


  • Serve as a clinical instructor for physical therapy students, residents, and fellows.


  • Maintain professional licensure through ongoing education and development.


  • Supervise physical therapist assistants and adjust care plans as needed.


  • Participate in staff meetings and in-service education programs.


  • Document all services rendered, including assessments, follow-ups, and discharge summaries.


  • Provide home care instructions to patients and their families.


  • Schedule patients to meet productivity standards while ensuring quality care.

Educational Requirements:



  • Graduate of an accredited program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Strong customer service skills.


  • Understanding of normal human growth and development across the lifespan.


  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret medical records.


  • Proficient in planning, organization, follow-up, delegation, problem-solving, and stress management.


  • Strong logical and strategic thinking skills for addressing a variety of problems.


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


  • Ability to identify and pursue referral growth opportunities.


  • Effective interaction with healthcare teams, coworkers, supervisors, and corporate management.


  • Active participation in professional healthcare organizations is preferred.


  • May work in areas where medications are stored, but will not handle medications.



Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:



  • Active state license required.


  • CPR certification based on AHA standards, including both didactic and skills demonstration components, within 30 days of hire.


  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Physical Therapist (PT)
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
