Title: Associate Director - Senior Software Engineer
Location: 7 World Trade Center, 250 Greenwich Street, New York, NY 10007 (Principal place of business - telecommuting permitted)
Duties: Design, develop and maintain products for Moodys.com platform using front-end and backend web technologies, databases, and cloud services. Collaborate with other development teams within Digital Insights team and across Moody’s Analytics to establish technology standards and best practices. Identify and embrace innovative technologies to enhance customer experience, improve platform stability, scalability, and availability. Assist in designing and developing new products and enhancements based on evolving business needs. Evaluate innovative technologies, prototype solutions, and conduct knowledge sharing sessions. Participate in backlog refinements and iteration planning meetings to review and point stories. Take ownership of epics and stories and implement and test features (unit, integration, end-to-end). Liaise with senior leadership and executives, including providing updates on project progress, reporting any issues or risks, and recommending improvements or changes to system. Responsible for designing homepage overall architecture, including integration of AWS services and creating APIs using serverless technologies. Convert legacy systems to modern micro-frontend architecture, ensuring system is scalable and secure. Perform code reviews to ensure high code quality, follow best practices and standards, and provide feedback and mentorship to team members. Ensure system is secure and there are no downtime deployments. Work closely with QA team to ensure system is thoroughly tested, including functional, integration, and security testing. Ensure that proper documentation is created for system, including technical specifications, user manuals, and system architecture diagrams. Continuously evaluate and improve system, keeping up with the latest technologies and industry trends and implementing best software development and security practices. Ensure configurations are aligned with security and compliance requirements, including data protection and regulatory compliance. Lead innovation efforts on cross-team dependencies. Identify and create common components that can be leveraged across teams. Telecommuting Permitted (100% telecommuting position. Will consider applicants resident in the continental U.S.).
Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field plus five (5) years of progressively responsible experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or in a related IT position performing software development and designing technical solutions. Must have experience with the following: architecting, designing, developing, and implementing solutions to support enhancements and bug fixes in existing and new applications; providing technical support, including troubleshooting, analyzing, and resolving defects in production, UAT, and stage environment; applying knowledge of multithreading concepts, design patterns, and software development methodologies, including Agile and Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment for applications development; working with SQL/PLSQL, Unix, Shell, JavaScript, Html, CSS, SCSS, React, Redux, Angular, MaterialUI, Eclipse, VSCode, Postgres, Python, AWS, Tableau, GitHub, GitActions, BitBucket, Jenkins, and automated testing tools, including Cypress and Jest; working with open source code and frameworks; and using build tools and version control systems, including webpack and node. For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $169,229 to $195,550, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
