Quality Engineer

PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Quality Engineer will work with the quality assurance team to identify, document, and report product or service quality levels, investigate customer complaints and non-conformance issues, and take appropriate corrective action based on the findings. The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of aerospace quality management systems and processes and the ability to identify any potential issues or risks. Furthermore, the ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving and communication skills and proven experience in auditing, inspection, and testing procedures.
DUTIES
» Document and report product or service quality levels
» Develop a workflow or AS9102 Form 3 for product inspection
» Follow up with the appropriate channels when mistakes are found
» Evaluate the adequacy of quality assurance standards and processes
» Devise sampling procedures and directions for recording and reporting quality data
» Review the implementation and efficiency of quality and inspection systems
» Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance issues
» Collect and compile statistical quality-related data
» Analyze data to identify areas for improvement in the quality management system (QMS)
» Develop, recommend, and monitor corrective and preventive actions
» Prepare reports to communicate the results of quality inspection activities to management
» Monitor risk-management activities
» Ensure ongoing compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirements
» Prioritize work and meet deadlines
» Recognize and maintain the confidentiality of all materials in the work setting
» Use problem-solving skills to identify potential issues with a product and propose solutions to fix them
» Use problem-solving skills to identify the source of a defect, determine the best way to repair it, and verify that the repair was successful
» Use problem-solving skills to identify the root cause of a production delay and propose a solution to prevent it from happening again
» Explain findings to management in a way that is clear and easily understood
» Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
» Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
» Document actions by completing production timesheets
» Accomplish organizational goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
» Other duties as assigned

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
» Multi-limb coordination: the ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down
» Manual dexterity: the ability to quickly move your hand, your hand along with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects
» Trunk strength: the ability to use the abdominal and lumbar muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without fatigue
» Arm and hand stability: the ability to keep the hand and arm steady while moving the arm or while holding the arm and hand in one position
» Static force: the ability to exert maximum muscular force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects
» Reaction time: the ability to respond quickly (with hand, finger, or foot) to a signal (sound, light, image) when it appears
» Stamina: The ability to physically exert yourself for long periods without getting out of breath
» Depth perception: the ability to judge which of several objects is closer or farther from you or to judge the distance between you and an object
» Operation and control: control of equipment or systems operations
» Active listening: paying full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
» Critical thinking: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
» Coordination: Adjusting actions as a response to the actions of others
Judgment and decision making: Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one
