We're changing the trajectory of health for humanity, using robotics to enhance healthcare providers' abilities and improve patients' diagnoses, treatments, and recovery times. Johnson & Johnson Robotics was established in 2020 with the integration of Auris Health, Verb Surgical, C-SATS, and Ethicon. It comprises three key med-tech platforms: Flexible Robotics (MONARCH®), Surgical Robotics (OTTAVA™), and Digital Solutions. Join our collaborative, rapidly growing teams in the San Francisco Bay Area (Redwood City and Santa Clara), Cincinnati, and Seattle. You'll collaborate on breakthrough medical technologies that unite multiple subject areas to build a connected digital ecosystem that advances medical professionals' skills and improves patient outcomes.

The Manager, Systems Integration will lead the team in implementing the framework and processes to operate, and maintain the incredibly complex Johnson & Johnson OTTAVA Robotic System within the R&D organization. Have the opportunity to train and observe clinicians, key opinion leaders, and high-profile visitors interacting with the OTTAVA System. They will provide program level contributions and management of the team's responsibilities. This team will operate the system during clinical labs, and resolve known issues, document novel issues that arise during system use, perform SW installation and smoke testing, and provide complex engineering test support for R&D applications. Applicants should have technical and leadership experience working with complex electromechanical systems but need not have a technical background in robotics. This is a phenomenal opportunity for someone with an interest in medical robotics to gain technical and industry knowledge, while providing a critical service to the OTTAVA program. The successful candidate will both be able to dive into technical details, as well as grow the team in size, skill, and career path. This individual will develop a team of highly technical engineers and collaborate multi-functionally to develop high quality products, meeting both time and budget considerations in line with Company objectives.

Core Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead root cause, and resolve challenges across the R&D systems by working across mechanical, electrical, software, robotic controls, and clinical teams.
  • Lead integration, implementation and refinement of modular mechatronics solutions.
  • Problem solve through broad technical knowledge and relationship building.
  • Lead interdisciplinary groups to drive collaboration with impartiality and willingness to constructively challenge to inspire change.
  • Build and lead a team of technical specialists responsible for setting up, operating, maintaining, and debugging the system in development and clinical labs.
  • Establish strategic plans, objectives and clear results.
  • Identify, manage and mitigate technical risk and project risk through coordination with cross-disciplinary team in R&D and external collaborators.
  • Lead recruiting, onboarding, new hire integration, and mentoring/growth opportunities for the team members.
