CNC Milling Machinist III

Job Description

Join us at ATI, where we’re hiring high performers to contribute to our mission of solving the world's most difficult challenges through materials science. This is a full-time, onsite position on the 1st shift, Monday to Friday from 7 am to 3:30 pm.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Operate various types and sizes of CNC production machines for machining forgings or stock to customer specifications.
  • Work independently, following established quality and safety standards.
  • Receive and interpret work instructions and setup sheets from department supervision.
  • Complete full machine setups without supervision.
  • Collaborate with Engineering on developmental projects.
  • Train and assist level I and II CNC Machinists.
  • Load and unload pieces manually or with a hoist, applying coolant lubricant and changing tools as required.
  • Use precision measuring devices to ensure machined dimensions and surface finishes meet specifications.
  • Exercise care in handling material pre- and post-machining.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years of CNC Milling experience.
  • Experience in the aerospace industry is required.
  • Experience with large parts and large milling is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Okuma controls experience highly desired.
  • Ability to run multiple pieces of equipment simultaneously.
  • Turning experience is preferred in addition to required milling experience.

Required Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Skills

  • Knowledge of basic machining principles, GD&T, blueprint reading, and program reading.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills for problem-solving and implementing long-term solutions.
  • Proficient in using hand tools, measuring instruments, and gages for machining operations.
