Greetings from the St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in picturesque Red Bluff, California. I have been the proud medical director at Sound for six years. I am delighted to invite physicians and advanced practice providers who are on the journey to explore new opportunities or are considering a change in career path. I want to share more about our people, practice, and purpose as you consider your next steps:
People- We are a closely knit, established team of six physicians and three advanced practice providers, with the support of a clinical performance nurse.
- We are a diverse team from different ethnic backgrounds and training programs, including internal medicine, internal medicine/pediatrics, and family medicine.
- At St. Elizabeth, we re more than just a healthcare team; we re a community. We actively participate in various hospital committees, such as the medical executive committee, stroke, sepsis, and infection control.
- Beyond our professional lives, we cherish the moments when we can unwind together, whether over dinners, making music with a guitar, racing cars, exploring the mountains on motorcycles, or venturing out on breathtaking hikes.
- We proudly sponsor H1B and J1 visa candidates, and Sound is equipped with excellent in-house visa specialists and licensing and credentialing experts. All required filing fees for the visa are paid, and services are covered by Sound.
- St. Elizabeth Community Hospital, nestled in Tehama County, is a rural gem spread over 3,000 square miles, serving a population of 65,000.
- We welcome the challenge of complex cases, working in an open ICU with telemedicine critical care 24/7. We do most procedures and run codes.
- You ll experience an average census of 10-12 per physician, with 1-3 admissions per day and 2-6 admissions per night.
- Internal Medicine BC/BE to cover adult services only. Med/Peds or family medicine BC/BE will have the opportunity to provide coverage of pediatric patients; 1-2 pediatric patients a day primarily newborns, may also require resuscitation for critical newborns until transfer assist ER in facilitating transfers of critical patients.
- Cerner EMR and access to Sound Physicians internal informatics platform.
- Phone consultations with specialists at our larger regional hospital complement opportunities for independent practice.

- We maintain strong connections through team meetings held monthly or bi-monthly.
- A balanced 7-on/7-off block schedule allows for quality time at work and home.
- Our dedicated team consists of two hospitalists during the day and one at night (one APP during the day).
- We are a small, collegial team that strives to support each other for time off when needed.
- Red Bluff is a charming rural farming community with excellent access to outdoor activities, including hunting, camping, fishing, and hiking.

- Expected yearly salary is $320K-$330K, depending on experience.
