Employment Counsel - Hedge Fund

An Elite Hedge Fund in NYC is seeking an Employment Counsel to join their Global Legal team out of their New York office. This will be the only Employment Counsel in the department and will be responsible for advising the business on all complex employment matters associated within the firm and will be taking the lead on special projects that improve the policies, procedures and strategies across the firm.

This Employment Counsel will also have exposure to international markets through the firm's diverse platform and collaborative network across their global offices. With how quickly the firm is growing, this Employment Counsel will be a very important stakeholder in the development and structure of the Legal team, as well as the firm's overall expansion plans.

Some additional requirements for the Employment Counsel include (but are not limited to):

  • JD Required
  • 10+ years of experience in the Labor & Employment group at a law firm or relevant in-house experience
  • Drafting complex employment agreements, separation agreements, contractor agreements and other compensation agreements
  • Assist with counseling HR on employee matters
  • Be highly skilled in providing legal counsel specifically in the L&E space
  • Local to or willing to relocate to NYC
