Automation Specialist, Digital Competitive Intelligence

An automation specialist designs, develops and implements automated systems to streamline processes and enhance efficiency within DCI operations. A critical aspect of this role includes facilitating process left shifts and understanding Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to translate them into implementation. The specialist collaborates with cross-functional teams, troubleshoots issues, and ensures seamless integration of automation tools. Additionally, staying updated on emerging technologies and providing ongoing support and optimization are integral parts of the role.


Key Job Responsibilities
  1. Design and implement automated solutions to optimize operational processes.
  2. Develop and maintain scripts for effective automation of tasks.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand the automation requirements.
  4. Make simple changes to existing code scripts and perform code reviews of peers’ code changes (e.g., validating & suggesting optimizations).
  5. Responsible for root cause analysis, mitigation, and resolution of tickets/issues reported by stakeholders/operations team.
  6. Escalate when situations require significant deviation from SOPs or when issues appear risky or difficult (e.g., if a workflow is not functioning or support needed to close loop a task).
  7. Stay updated on emerging technologies and recommend improvements.
  8. Ensure documentation of automated processes and procedures.
  9. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement.
  10. Help onboard new team members and assist them when they encounter unexpected situations. Your verbal and written style is clear and concise.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  1. BE/BTech/MCA in Computer Science or Information Technology stream.
  2. 4+ years of overall experience with at least 2+ years of experience in automation and programming.
  3. Knowledge of and proficiency in the use of SQL and Python scripting language.
  4. Basic understanding of at least one modern programming language - C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby.
  5. Experience with automation frameworks and tools (Selenium, Ansible).
  6. Proven expertise in process analysis and optimization along with strong problem-solving abilities.
  7. Effective communication, teamwork, and project management skills are crucial.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Certified Automation Professional (CAP).
  2. Ability to solve operational issues using technology.
  3. Prior experience in working with multiple stakeholders on projects/operations.
