Certified Nursing Assistant
JOB SUMMARY:
The certified nursing assistant will work directly with students under the supervision of the district nurse to attend to students' immediate medical needs.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to:

* Building Principal
* District RN

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Completion of state-approved training as:

* Certified Nursing Assistant
* Licensed Practical Nurse
* Registered Nurse

* Possess valid driver's license
* Previous experience as a custodian in an educational environment preferred

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Basic medical knowledge and techniques
* Recording of vital signs, including respiration, body temperature, pulse, and blood pressure
* Changing dressings
* Maintaining patient safety and personal hygiene
* Providing personal care based on students' individual needs
* Caring for multiple students in school
* Providing empathy and compassion

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY:

* Constant hand-eye, mind-eye coordination.
* Ability to lift 50 lbs.
* Frequent sitting, standing, walking, talking, bending, lifting, and stooping required.
* Occasional travel to various school locations required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

* Work is performed in an environment where unusual temperature and noise are relatively nonexistent
* Work is performed in an environment where health hazards may occur
* Occasional need for work outside the normal hours/days

LICENSES/CREDENTIALS:
Current state certification in the appropriate specialty
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

* 178 days per year
* 7 hours per day
* Twelve sick days per year
* Four personal days per year
* Vacation days as stated in Policy 5:330
* At-will position
* FLSA Non-Exempt
* Starting hourly wage: $15/hour

PERFORMANCE EVALUATION:

* Two evaluations will be conducted during the first year of employment (45 and 90 days).
* After the probationary period, evaluations will be completed in accordance with administrative procedures.
