Job Summary

The Senior Performance and Strategy Consultant delivers on our Purpose by ensuring daily air revenue generation meets or exceeds Company goals while maintaining our low cost brand. This role ensures the Revenue Management System has the most accurate inputs and executes full-scale strategic changes based on statistical analysis and simulation modeling. The Senior Performance and Strategy Consultant has an analytical mindset and is ready to drive the future of Southwest's Revenue Management.

Responsibilities
- Incorporate Yield Management, Pricing, and Technology concepts with Commercial goals to enable Revenue Management to maximize revenue while maintaining our low cost brand.
- Enable Yield Management and Pricing to be more effective and efficient by consulting on difficult problems, being a subject matter expert in a host of areas and improving the base forecast and optimization of the Revenue Management System through consistent innovation.
- Identify opportunities for revenue generation and drive decisions on Revenue Management, Commercial and Enterprise projects based on complex analysis.
- Actively seek opportunities outside normal scope of work and proactively make recommendations based on RM system knowledge and analysis to improve revenue performance and meet Revenue Management goals.
- Work directly with Revenue Management vendors to improve effectiveness of Revenue Management System.
- Represent Revenue Management in cross-Team discussions and Enterprise initiatives, without direct Leadership involvement.
- Act as a Project Leader with responsibility for performing research, data mining, developing conclusions and presenting findings to Senior Leaders for discussion and evaluation.
- Present and communicate regularly to Revenue Management Senior Leaders and Vice President directly.
- Develop, train and mentor junior analysts within Revenue Management.
- May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Expert knowledge of Yield Management theory and practice, Pricing strategy and execution, reservation systems, Global Distribution Systems, forecasting and optimization theory.
- Skilled in Microsoft products: Excel (e.g. pivot tables, VBA), Access, Outlook, Teams, etc.
- Skilled in SQL and database management and working knowledge of JAVA, Python, or Alteryx.
- Ability to innovate, specifically in the Revenue Management & Pricing space.
- Ability to quickly make sense of, combine, and organize information into meaningful patterns, present this data and provide in meaningful formats so others may continue analysis.
- Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
- Ability to understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
- Ability to identify and solve complex problems using logic and reasoning.
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or GED.
Experience
- Expert level experience, expansive and far-reaching knowledge in:
- Yield Management including theory, strategy and practice.
- Pricing including theory, strategy, and practice.
- Reservation Systems, Global Distribution Systems.
- Working with large and complex datasets.
- High level analytical problem solving.
- Consistently innovating to solve problems.
- SQL and Relational databases.
Licensing/Certification
- None
Physical Abilities
- Ability to perform work duties from a limited space work station/desk/office area for extended periods of time.
- Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job.
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job.
Other Qualifications
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards.
- Ability to work extended hours as needed.
- Must meet confidentiality expectations regarding confidential, proprietary and sensitive Company information.
Pay & Benefits:
- Competitive market salary from $118,600 per year to $131,800 per year depending on qualifications and experience.
