Education

Must have an M.S. in Medical Physics or appropriate field

Experience / Qualifications

Board certification or board eligible in Medical Physics. Florida License is mandatory
Preferred experience in clinical radiation oncology physics.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and make good sound decisions, possess good hand-eye coordination, be alert and self motivated and listen intently.
Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing.

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Radiation Oncologist(s) and the Administrative Director, the Physicist provides continuing physics support to the department including:

Treatment planning for stereotactic radiosurgery, stereotactic body radiation therapy, external radiotherapy and brachytherapy
Periodic machine calibrations including but not limited to Accuray Cyberknife M6 unit, Varian Trilogy Unit, Liac e-IORT machine, Nucletron HDR unit
Documentation of surveys, calibrations etc. as required
Radiation Safety Committee member
ACR, JACHO, ACHA etc, preparation as needed
Will assist in the development of new projects as needed to keep abreast of the latest advances in the field
Performs other duties as assigned
