AVI Foodsystems is looking for an energetic and optimistic leader to fill the role of Director of Operations at Saint Anselm in Manchester, NH .

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Provide guidance and leadership in the delivery of outstanding guest experience, culinary operations, labor scheduling, inventory management, marketing, and profitability
  2. Plan, identify, communicate, and delegate responsibilities throughout the area to ensure excellent operations are consistently achieved
  3. Assist in preparation of budget estimates and justifications for the food and nutrition services program and maintain cost controls
  4. Plan and direct the ordering, receiving, and accounting of all food products, supplies, and equipment for food operation
  5. Oversee an energetic and proactive approach to interviewing, selecting, training, counseling, disciplining, and scheduling of all team members with a goal of always staying multiple steps ahead of turnover
  6. Create and lead presentations at client meetings
  7. Foster an atmosphere of teamwork that encourages staff to work collaboratively
  8. Assist multiple campus location managers with Weekly Accountability Reporting. Hold monthly meetings to review variances
  9. Conduct monthly inventory audits of each location
  10. Conduct all new hire on-the-job training with each new employee
  11. Work with marketing to ensure all locations are up to AVI standards for signage
  12. Meet with culinary team to review food costs and PAMs
  13. Assist the Resident Director with reviewing Profit and Loss statements and making improvements to meet budgeted numbers
  14. Set all standards for the main dining hall for portioning, serving utensils, daily operational cleaning lists, etc.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Three or more years of management experience, inclusive of regular client interaction
  2. Campus catering background of development, setup, and execution of large scale events
  3. A working practice and understanding of union and labor relations
  4. Strong operations background preferably including exposure to both school lunch and multi-unit functions
  5. Demonstrated success in managing and developing teams to achieve desired results
  6. Proficiency with financial aspects for the role, from budgeting to interpreting results and interacting with management team
  7. Excellent written and oral communication skills
  8. Strong working computer knowledge, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  9. Personal characteristics that include: self-motivation, high levels of energy and enthusiasm, and a positive attitude
