Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated staff-level Cloud Engineer, responsible for designing, maintaining, and securing the hosting platform for two distinct global SaaS products; developing tools and services to streamline operations and the platform development experience; and providing technical mentorship, strategic direction, and subject matter expertise of cloud native architecture and progressive delivery.

What you’ll do:

  1. Design, implement, and maintain a secure and scalable infrastructure platform hosting a myriad of services for a global SaaS organization.
  2. Provide hands-on technical mentorship to a team of Cloud Engineers.
  3. Own and ensure that internal and external SLA’s meet and exceed expectations.
  4. Participate in special projects as required.
  5. Contribute to and evangelize cloud native architectural patterns and take an ownership stake in maintaining adherence to them.

What you’ll need:

  1. Production experience with Kubernetes and other Cloud Native technologies.
  2. Deep understanding of protocols and technologies foundational to the web.
  3. Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues across every layer of the stack.
  4. Conceptual thinking to understand advanced issues and implications.
  5. Deep understanding of software development methodologies and systems design.
  6. Experience in software development and large-scale SaaS operations.
  7. Experience working in a Linux and Windows environment.
  8. Experience using, operating, and developing on top of cloud services (we use Azure primarily).
  9. Fluency in at least one high-level programming language (Python, Go, etc.), and one scripting language (Bash, PowerShell, etc.).
  10. Ownership of solution design lifecycle (analysis, architecture, development, hosting, etc.).
  11. Experience with test-driven development, continuous integration (CI) and delivery (CD), paired programming, and git source control.
  12. Proven problem-solving skills and experience working collaboratively in a team environment.
  13. Highly responsible, self-motivated, and able to thrive in an energetic, fast-paced, high-growth environment. Exhibits ownership of projects and tasks assigned.
  14. Effective communication skills to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  15. Excellent organizational skills required to adapt to a constantly changing technical environment.
  16. Comfortable engaging product management, product development, and architecture teams proactively to improve products and services and solve daily challenges.
  17. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
  18. A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field like computer science or software engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
