The RoleThe Strategic Account Director of Leisure Sales is responsible for the overall sales for Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, in all aspects of the leisure market including a specific focus on driving sales to the Caribbean and Mexico markets. In addition, they will be responsible for maintaining client relationships with wholesale accounts, large third-party leisure accounts and FIT clients.
What you'll do- Develop sales strategies and tactical plans for the leisure market segment to achieve revenue and room night goals.
- Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings.
- Target accounts, markets, or segments with heavy emphasis on proactive solicitation and account saturation.
- Utilize negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts.
- Manage complex business interactions and negotiations.
- Leverage relationships with key and target accounts to increase market share.
- Quarterly business reviews with designated ownership groups.
- Recommend, plan, and participate in sales trips and industry-related meetings as appropriate.
- Must be able to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations, including ability to handle client objections and disputes to achieve satisfactory results.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet simultaneous deadlines with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated self-starter, exhibiting initiative, confidence, professionalism, and good judgment.
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work with people at all levels and from all backgrounds and parts of the world.
- 4-year bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major or experience commensurate with role and responsibility.
- 5 years of experience in leisure sales.
- Strong professional presentation skills.
- Global and/or Multi Property Experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Remote based in New York City, Miami, Chicago or Houston.
