FSO - Real Estate – Senior

This position can be anywhere in the country (primary: FL).

The opportunity

You’ll help our Real Estate clients meet their reporting requirements by accurately reporting on financial statements and providing meaningful insights into accounting and reporting matters. You’ll get exposure to a broad array of investment funds, hotel construction, and commercial developers looking for entrepreneurial thinking to resolve complex global real estate issues. Your key responsibilities

Everything you’ll do will come back to providing exceptional audit activities for our clients. Colleagues and clients from a diverse array of backgrounds will look to you first for answers, so you’ll be a high-profile contact when it comes to resolving complex issues. As you build your knowledge and experience, you’ll become a credible advisor, influencing clients and engagement teams on resolutions that will impact entire industries.

Skills and attributes for success
  1. Leading fieldwork, managing performance and keeping engagement leaders updated on audit engagements
  2. Completing audit processes and documenting higher-risk areas to increase your technical and business skills in areas including revenue, financial instruments and income taxes
  3. Engaging clients and providing authoritative advice and professionalism throughout transactions
  4. Constantly developing your understanding of current market trends and processes and sharing your knowledge to develop junior colleagues
  5. Understanding our clients’ unique ambitions and needs and referring them to colleagues in other teams and areas to broaden our business relationships where possible
To qualify for the role you must have
  1. A bachelor’s degree in an accounting, finance or business discipline, supported by 2-3 years’ work experience as an auditor in a public accounting firm’s real estate practice
  2. US CPA licensure in your work state
  3. Experience leading the planning, execution and reporting on audits of financial statements applying US GAAP
  4. Proven project management skills
  5. Excellent communication and negotiation skills and a collaborative approach to management
  6. The flexibility to constantly learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Ideally you’ll have

Experience with REIT’s, Real Estate investments, and commercial construction or development.

What we offer

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $78,400 to $129,300. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $94,100 to $147,000. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.

Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
