MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

* Provides input into the purchase, modification, and improvement of varied steel making equipment.
* Work closely with vendors and internal staff to develop project scope, timeline and budget.
* Manage engineering projects on time, on budget, and on deliverables.
* Work with operations, maintenance, and technical groups to prioritize capital investment that improve reliability, increase capacity, and eliminate waste.
* Completes standard engineering & design work related to the installation and retrofit of equipment.
* Provides day-to-day equipment troubleshooting support to Maintenance.
* May specialize in one of the following disciplines: Electrical, Mechanical, Civil and Combustion.
* Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

REQUIRED FOR THE MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

* Four-year college degree required.
* Three or more years of relevant experience required.
* Ability to work in a production-oriented environment.
* Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions.
* Ability to perform independent work on larger assignments requiring experience and independent judgment and under supervision of higher-level engineer, supervisor, or manager.
* Design skills.
* Problem solving skills.
* Ability to manage subsets of projects.
* Ability to apply engineering discipline training in the design of equipment and fabrications.
* Ability to direct outside consultants, contractors, and material suppliers.
