Job Description :

The Director, Strategic Initiatives is a pivotal leadership position responsible for driving the seamless integration of newly acquired senior living communities into the Sonida organization. This role is instrumental in advancing operational excellence and ensuring the successful implementation of strategic initiatives. The Director will lead cross-functional teams, develop and execute high-impact operational and company programs, and leverage data-driven insights to enhance organizational performance and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Program Development and Leadership: Formulate, develop, and execute strategic programs and initiatives that align with Sonida’s long-term goals. Oversee the entire community acquisition transition process, ensuring successful integration into Sonida’s operational framework.
  • Operational Efficiency and Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. Drive the optimization of integration processes and focus on sustainable growth within the organization.
  • Change Management and Training: Spearhead change management efforts, guiding teams through transitions and fostering a culture of innovation. Direct the creation and implementation of comprehensive training materials and onboarding guides for community staff to support new technologies, processes, and systems.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with the Business Development and Acquisition teams to manage due diligence documentation and critical information. Lead cross-functional coordination among departments such as Clinical, HR, IT, Legal, Operations, and Finance. Cultivate strong relationships with senior leaders and key stakeholders to ensure alignment on strategic goals and project milestones.
  • High-Level Project Management: Develop, manage, and maintain a centralized project plan with clear timelines, milestones, and deliverables. Provide strategic oversight to ensure timely completion of tasks and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Operational and Company Program Excellence: Collaborate with senior leadership to design and implement best-in-class operational and company programs, policies, and procedures. Drive consistency and excellence across all communities.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making and Continuous Improvement: Utilize data analytics to monitor performance, assess outcomes, and drive strategic decisions. Identify opportunities for improvement and propose initiatives to enhance integration and community performance.
  • Strategic Operational Leadership: Provide leadership and strategic insights to anticipate future community needs. Align operational strategies with Sonida’s long-term goals and serve as a key advisor to senior leadership with data-backed recommendations for operational performance.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Proactively assess potential risks associated with acquisition and operational initiatives. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks, ensure compliance with regulatory and clinical standards, and resolve complex issues effectively.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or communications is preferred
  • Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in project management, operations, strategic initiatives, or acquisition integration
  • Proven track record in executive project management, with the ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects across large organizations

Skill/ knowledge requirements:

  • Advanced Proficiency in Excel
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong analytical, and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to leverage data to drive high-level decisions
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment while leading multiple priorities with a strategic, executive mindset
