What You’ll Do:

The Director of eCommerce Development will lead our digital commerce initiatives, be responsible for driving the technical execution of our eCommerce strategy, ensuring the delivery of exceptional and performant customer experiences across our direct-to-consumer and wholesale platforms.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Development Leadership - You will be responsible for leading a cross-functional team of project management, quality assurance, and development professionals. You are ultimately responsible for their productivity, team morale, growth, and success.
  • Vendor Selection - You will partner with the VP of IT, other departmental leaders, and stakeholders and work through build vs. buy scenarios. You will have input on what vendors we partner with, perform cost and feature analysis, and work with the eCommerce product manager to ensure accurate requirements and timelines are captured.
  • Roadmapping - Collaborate with the eCommerce Product Manager as well as senior leaders and stakeholders to determine what features will be developed over the course of the calendar year. Participate in planning and estimate discussions, ensuring scope is captured. Handle change management and the impact that new, urgent priorities have on the overall roadmap.
  • Visionary - What got us here won’t get us there. You will work with the VP of IT and look to the future and determine what emerging technology and industry trends we should capitalize on, and influence and persuade leaders to adopt new solutions.
  • Metrics and Measurement - The changes and projects our team implements will have some impact on our company. It is your responsibility to constantly be measuring and determining where we may need to pivot.
  • Tooling and Process - Ensure our development team has the best tools and training at their disposal to efficiently implement quality products.
  • Compliance and Legal - Keep a high level of awareness around changes and evolutions in compliance related to Accessibility, PCI Compliance, and Data Privacy (i.e. GDPR, CCPA). Work with stakeholders and product management to prioritize projects, procure tools that will allow us to audit and continue to remain compliant.
  • Partner with Marketing, Omnichannel, and Senior Leadership teams to implement revenue-driving and efficiency-enhancing initiatives.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of robust, scalable, and secure eCommerce solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement in site performance, user experience, and conversion rates.
  • Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of eCommerce initiatives.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to onboard new vendor partners and facilitate the implementation and maintenance of integrations with third-parties.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to inform strategic decisions and maintain competitive advantage.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence within the eCommerce development team.
What You’ll Bring: Requirements & Qualifications:
  • BA in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in eCommerce development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong technical background with hands-on experience in both front-end and back-end technologies.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale eCommerce projects.
  • Experience with modern eCommerce platforms and associated technologies.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in Agile methodologies and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledgeable in internet marketing, SEO, and analytics applications.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to navigate legal vendor contracts.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Extreme attention to detail and highly organized.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, focused on the end goal, and remaining positive as priorities change.
  • Ability to maintain a professional atmosphere in a fast-paced environment.
  • A high degree of initiative, self-motivation, and ability to motivate others.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with Team Members and colleagues.
  • Comfortable with office pets (cats, dogs).
