NextCare Urgent Care is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Medical Assistant that likes the challenge of a fast pace setting and working in a team environment. We are looking for customer-friendly and passionate employees to be a part of our growing organization where patients and employees are our top priority.

The Cottonwood Clinic is located at 450 South Willard Street, Cottonwood, AZ 86326
Clinic hours are Sunday - Saturday 8:00 am to 6:00 pm
Shift is 3-4 10-hour shifts per week, with weekend rotation
Responsibilities
The Medical Assistant is responsible for performing patient care duties under the Medical Assistant scope of practice in the urgent care setting.
How you will make an impact
The Medical Assistant supports the organization with customer service and treating all of our patients with respect and dignity. They provide patient care services in the back office urgent care setting, which will meet the specific needs of the patient.
Essential Education, Experience and Skills:
Education: Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent; and
1. The medical assistant candidate has completed an APPROVED Medical Assistant Training Program*.
“Approved medical assistant training program,” means a program accredited by one of the following two-accreditation organizations:
The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health; or
The Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES); or
2. The medical assistant candidate has completed an UNAPPROVED medical assistant training program AND
Certification* is required.
Certifying organizations accepted in Arizona are:
American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) - administers the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) exam and certification; or
American Medical Technologists (AMT) – provides the Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) exam and certification to individuals who have completed the AMT criteria; or
National Healthcareer Association (NHA)-administers the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam and certification
National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) - administers the National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) exam and certification.
3. The medical assistant candidate is eligible for hire if they meet one of the following three (3) criteria within A., or B., or C
A. The medical assistant candidate completed an UNAPPROVED medical assistant training program AND
Was Employed as a medical assistant for one (1) year or more after program completion must have occurred prior to February 2, 2000,*; or
B. The medical assistant candidate was directly supervised by the SAME physician, physician group, or physician assistant for a minimum of 2000 hours (approximately working 40 hours/week for 12 months) prior to February 2, 2000,* ; or
C. The medical assistant completed a United States Armed Forces medical services training program*.
