Sr. MRI Technologist

Location: UCSF'S Peninsula Outpatient Center (POPC), Burlingame, CA

Job Summary:

This position requires flexibility in scheduling, ability to rotate shifts, and coverage for weekends and holidays. The Department of Radiology operates 24/7, providing imaging services for adult and pediatric patients. The MR Senior Radiologic Technologist provides technical knowledge and coordinates the delivery of MRI services.

Under the direction of a qualified physician, this position will operate a variety of equipment including high field strength magnets, prioritizing MRI safety. Responsibilities include patient coordination, acquisition, processing, and archiving of patient data, as well as training new and existing staff on new technologies. The technologist will maintain and operate equipment according to manufacturer's specifications and may oversee MRI services and staffing coverage in the absence of the MR Supervisor.

The MR Senior Radiologic Technologist must comply with department protocols and UCSF policies, working independently under general supervision and interacting cooperatively with Radiologists, Clinicians, and peers.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a formal radiology technology training program from an AMA approved school.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with high field magnetic resonance systems.
  • Demonstrated competency in 3 of the 6 specialty scans within 6 months of hire:
    • Cardiac Imaging
    • Fetal Imaging
    • Whole body Pediatric scans
    • Special procedures (neuro intraop (HIFU/DBS), etc.)
    • Pediatric/Adult Anesthesia
    • Breast Imaging
    • Device vetting (pacemaker, etc.)
  • Flexibility in scheduling and ability to rotate to other sites when necessary.

License/Certification:

  • ARRT approved MRI Certification
  • BLS Certification
  • Venipuncture Certification

Salary: $73.07 - $90.87 (Hourly Rate)
