ADP is seeking a Divisional Vice President, Strategy for our Smart Compliance Solutions (SCS) division.

As the DVP Strategy & Business Development for the SCS division, you will be providing direction and leadership in developing and implementing the strategic and business development plans that enable the business to grow profitably.

In this critical role, you will lead the strategic planning process for the organization which offers the HCM market a combined full-service offering of HCM & Payroll-related compliance solutions. This business unit serves clients of all sizes, from very large multinational companies to smaller mid-market companies that are looking to outsource specific compliance-related services. You will research and analyze market trends and business metrics to recommend and implement new product enhancements and programs to ensure the SCS consolidated businesses achieve short and long term revenue growth goals. You will actively engage with partners or acquisition targets and work with Legal and the Business owners on contracts. Through active and strong negotiations, you will bridge the product gaps and take advantage of our core competencies by creating these alliances, partnerships, or acquisitions. You will also track key industry trends such as regulatory and competitive challenges and develop plans and recommendations to mitigate and manage these emerging risks. The DVP of Strategy and Business Development will partner with the President of SCS, General Managers, and functional leaders (e.g., Product, Legal, Sales, Finance) to set the strategic direction for the business unit based on a data-driven, client-centered approach. The role will also be responsible for driving incubation of the newest and most critical strategic efforts, leading planning and execution, to grow them to sufficient maturity for hand-off to operating/execution teams.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Develop and deliver strategic and operational plans to support business growth objectives based on sound analysis and judgment.
  2. Drive a performance-based culture that engages associates to achieve excellence.
  3. Drive business-wide research agenda. Create and leverage Information Sources enabling SCS to accurately assess market, client needs, competition, and new opportunities.
  4. Proactively identify, develop, and drive longer-term strategies and initiatives that will result in attaining profitable growth. Take bold actions to strengthen results.
  5. Leverage changes in the external marketplace as catalysts for growth. Understand and act on trends in the external environment.
  6. Recommend, develop, and drive options for market entry considering all alternatives from build, alliance, and acquire. Build detailed functional business plans for key strategic growth initiatives.
  7. Lead the pricing, bundling, and discounting function for all SCS products and services. Assess customer profitability, pricing, and product mix versus competitors and adjust pricing or business models as appropriate.
  8. Develop structured tactical processes and practices including competitive intelligence, forecasting, pricing, business modeling, and ROI analysis.
  9. Manage and grow SCS channel strategies.
  10. Manage and coordinate Strategic Alliances to support growth objectives. Identify acquisition candidates and lead business case development as well as due diligence and operational assessments to assure successful implementation.

Required Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree; MBA preferred

Experience:

  • Equivalent of 15+ years of total experience
  • Ideal candidate will have strategy consulting experience and in-house strategic planning experience, having achieved a manager level
  • Proven success with developing and executing large scale strategic initiatives
