Legal Project Manager

This unique opportunity allows you to become a crucial part of a dynamic legal firm, specializing in project management across various practice areas. As a Legal Project Manager, you will lead projects from inception to completion, ensuring both efficiency and excellence in delivery. Working closely with diverse client teams, this role demands a strategic thinker with a robust background in project management within the legal or professional services sector. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with client teams to facilitate efficient management of legal engagements and explore innovative service delivery methods.
  • Serve as an expert in project planning, including fee estimating, budget development, and scope management.
  • Engage actively with the client teams providing trusted consultation to enhance service quality and efficiency.
  • Ensure firm compliance with client guidelines, particularly in staffing, reporting, and billing as coordinated with the Finance department.
  • Promote and spearhead the adoption and advancement of project management tools such as Clocktimizer, viGlobal, and HighQ.
  • Develop and refine legal project management methodologies by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide mentorship and training on project management and process improvement across the firm.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement by exemplifying strong leadership and commitment to innovation and quality.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in project management within legal or professional services.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or comparable professional experience.
  • A proven track record of delivering client-focused solutions that provide measurable benefits in financial performance and compliance.
  • Experienced in utilizing formal project management tools and process improvement methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and manage relationships with stakeholders across all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed, including weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced credentials such as a Paralegal Certificate, MBA, or JD preferred.
  • Direct experience managing large-scale projects with high-profile clients.
  • In-depth knowledge of project management software and collaboration tools including SharePoint and Microsoft Project.
  • Familiarity with change management methodologies like Prosci.
  • Professional certification in project management (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP).
  • Understanding of current trends and innovations in project management across various industries.
