Description

The Business Advisory Manager is a key part of our team. In this role, you will be directly responsible for the timely completion of each engagement, including the general bookkeeping, payroll, and business advisory work for a variety of individual and business clients across the entire organization. The Business Advisory Manager must know the structure of their team well and deploy the team’s strengths across client engagements accordingly. You will review work done by Business Advisors and Senior Business Advisors, be the primary contact for all client work, and deliver financial statements (and various other deliverables) on deadline while communicating with the Senior Manager.

What you will do:

  1. Act as the primary contact for all client work across multiple offices.
  2. Teach, coach, and train team members at various levels.
  3. Oversee and review work from entry level & senior staff.
  4. Provide accounting and advisory services for a variety of clients, including individuals and businesses in a variety of industries.
  5. Perform general accounting duties including entering transactions and reconciling general ledger, credit card, and cash accounts; propose and record journal entries.
  6. Perform complex adjustments and reconciliations on books; clean-up of accounting systems and records.
  7. Utilize accounting software and systems to prepare financial reports, ensuring adherence to accounting standards such as GAAP.
  8. Propose and setup accounting systems and services for new clients.
  9. Prepare payroll and payroll tax returns; prepare and file sales tax returns, record and report fixed assets and personal property.
  10. Utilize strong industry knowledge and research abilities to provide high level service on complex projects.
  11. Proactive risk and compliance assessments, and best practice recommendations to clients.
  12. Manage personal and team projects, manage competing priorities, and ensure timely completion of projects and adherence to deadlines.
  13. Develop relationships with clients and gain understanding of their finances and businesses.
  14. Interpret financial reports provided by clients, and within accounting software.
  15. Propose and record journal entries for business clients.
  16. Build knowledge of tax laws and accounting practices to better serve our client’s needs.

  1. 5 - 15 years professional accounting experience, preferably across multiple clients and industries.
  2. Superior accuracy and technical expertise, knowledge of client industries.
  3. Excellent communication, attention to detail, strong analytical skills.
  4. Expert use of accounting software & systems, and ability to learn new systems quickly.
  5. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  6. Proactive problem solving and project management.
  7. Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s Degree preferred.
  8. CPA preferred.
