Supervisor, Dietary Management at Community Medical Center summary:

The Supervisor of Dietary Management oversees kitchen service activities, ensuring meal assembly and delivery to patient floors while maintaining sanitation standards. They foster employee engagement and participate in quality initiatives to enhance service delivery in a healthcare setting. The role requires effective communication with staff, resource management, and adherence to budgetary guidelines to ensure efficient operation.

Job Overview:

Direct and supervise kitchen service shift activities including meal assembly and delivery of food to the patient floors. Supervise the sanitation of the kitchen including dishwashing and pot room functions, floor care, and cleaning of equipment.

Communicate effectively with staff to drive employee engagement. Initiate process improvement, participate in quality initiatives, and recommend performance management. Work collaboratively with the Operations Manager and other shift supervisors to provide consistent leadership.

Qualifications:

Preferred:

  • College degree from an accredited institution with a major in Food Service Management
  • Completion of Food Service Supervisor s Certification course
  • Certification through Dietary Mangers Association
  • 3-5 years experience in high volume food service
  • Healthcare experience

Certifications and Licenses Required

  • Sanitation Certification

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Shifts vary between 5:00am-1:30pm and 12:30pm-9:00pm
  • Rotating weekends
  • Full Time

  • Utilizes principles of CQI in all work situations
  • Seeks feedback and recommendations from others to improve the quality, processes and services
  • Contributes to improving quality services and productivity (takes the initiative to continually evaluate one s work, report problems, suggest solutions and try new ideas)
  • Effectively allocates and schedules resources
  • Able to project and appropriately staff the unit/department to effectively function to demand
  • Utilizes resources, both labor and non-labor to maximize efficiency and quality
  • Adheres to budgetary guidelines and targets-proactively manages budget variances and causes
  • Determines priorities and organizes work and time to meet them
  • Follows sound employee retention techniques; effective selection and

interviewing, recognition, fair and timely discipline, and ongoing performance feedback

  • Interacts constructively, tactfully and diplomatically with others and resolves conflicts effectively
  • Demonstrates cultural competency and ability to maintain a diverse workforce
  • Completes tasks and assignments in a timely, accurate and efficient manner
  • Remains positive and focused despite obstacles and setbacks
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency in completing assignments
  • Organizes multiple assignments and/or projects simultaneously to accomplish goals
