We are currently seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to oversee the construction of a new swim school in an existing building.

Position Overview: As the Commercial Construction Superintendent, you will play a critical role in managing the daily operations of our construction site. You will ensure that the project is completed safely, on time, and within budget while maintaining the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction, a strong work ethic, and a proactive, positive attitude.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. On-Site Leadership: Provide daily supervision of construction activities, ensuring effective communication and coordination among all stakeholders.
  2. Safety Management: Uphold safety standards and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations while maintaining a clean and organized job site.
  3. Scheduling and Planning: Prepare and distribute a three-week look-ahead schedule every Friday; collaborate with the Project Manager to update the master schedule monthly.
  4. Subcontractor Oversight: Keep the Project Manager (PM) and Project Assistant (PA) informed about subcontractor estimates and proposed selections. Facilitate timely approvals and coordination of scope changes.
  5. Documentation Management: Ensure all essential documents are provided to the PM for filing in Dropbox. Communicate any agreements or “deals” made with subcontractors or suppliers.
  6. Quality Control: Work closely with the PM on all plans and specifications changes, ensuring the current set of as-built documents is maintained weekly.
  7. Reporting and Communication: Deliver weekly updates detailing completed work and upcoming tasks, including a minimum of three project photos submitted by Wednesday.
  8. RFI Management: Collaborate with the PM to generate RFIs to address any project-related questions or concerns.
  9. Progress Tracking: Provide updated percentages of project completion based on the schedule of values to the PM by the 20th of each month.

Qualifications:

  1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction management.
  2. Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and safety regulations.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, and familiarity with Dropbox for document management.
  4. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  5. Ability to foster teamwork and maintain positive relationships with subcontractors and team members.
  6. Physically capable of operating various hand and power tools.
  7. Reliable transportation; a truck is preferred.
  8. Flexibility to work varying shifts as required by project demands.
