- Join an interdisciplinary design section of hardworking designers, illustrators, video producers, animators, and other creative staff members.
- Meet, work, and collaborate with staff at all levels of a matrixed organization to craft and build high level presentations with unquestionable integrity with outstanding communication skills
- Help us craft effective and impactful visual communications.
- Ensure projects are completed with high quality and on schedule.
- Prioritize multiple projects within design specifications and budget restrictions.
- Collaborate on communication products to technical investigators and leaders across the Laboratory.
- Work closely with your colleagues to ensure a seamless workflow and the highest quality products, within a cross-functional communications organization.
- Ensure APL's brand is consistent in all products.
Qualifications
You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...- Provide a portfolio of work that demonstrates your artistic abilities.
- Have a bachelor's degree or 5+ years of proven professional experience with presentation/graphic design, storytelling or communications.
- Possess excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- A self-motivated, strong negotiator with the skills to assess situations, collaborate across the organization, make timely decisions, and communicate these decisions clearly.
- Proficiency in working with PowerPoint and the Adobe Creative Suite.
- Are able to acquire a Top Secret level security clearance. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance. APL provides eligible staff with a comprehensive benefits package including retirement plans, paid time off, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, flexible spending accounts, education assistance, and training and development.
