The CSI Support and Outreach Coordinator is responsible for facilitating, enhancing and supporting the wellbeing of students, faculty, staff, and campus communities. The Coordinator serves as an initial contact for individuals seeking various wellbeing services, and provides non-clinical case management support. The Coordinator works in collaboration with campus and community partners to connect students, faculty, and staff with the appropriate resources to meet their academic, professional, and personal goals. The Coordinator works with the Campus Wellness and Crisis Intervention team to create a culture of thriving for all members of the USC community.

Job Accountabilities:

  1. Provide case management and related supportive services to individual students, faculty, and staff on a wide variety of health, personal, and/or family emergencies.
  2. Offer guidance and information on university resources, policies, and procedures.
  3. Establish and maintain positive working relationships with campus partners.
  4. Offer ongoing support to students, faculty, and staff to ensure continued success and wellness.
  5. Provide support, consultation and case management of students seeking a health leave of absence.
  6. Track and monitor students, faculty, and staff in need of support and maintain real-time case records.
  7. Provide guidance and support to faculty and staff who consult with CSI regarding concern for a member of the university community.
  8. Assess Trojans Care for Trojans (TC4T) and Department of Public Safety (DPS) reports as they are received and coordinate follow-up with individuals of concern as appropriate.
  9. Provide consultation, intervention recommendations and direct communication and follow-up, as appropriate, on individuals of concern and respond to concerns in a timely manner.
  10. Serve on the Student Concerns Committee, preparing a summary report of cases for the committee to discuss.
  11. Assist the Director, Associate Vice Provost, and Vice Provost with outreach and response to largescale incidents that may impact the university community.
  12. Assist Associate Vice Provost with annual, bi-annual, and other assessment efforts as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Master’s degree

Preferred Field of Expertise: Student personnel administration, education, counseling, or related field.

  • Minimum of two years of experience in higher education.
  • Knowledge of student development theory and application to practice.
  • Awareness of common issues and trends for college students.
  • Knowledge in areas of crisis and risk management, behavioral intervention, and community standards in a higher education environment.
  • Demonstrated experience and creativity in managing difficult and complex situations involving students, families, staff, and faculty.
  • Understanding of intersectionality and how identity impacts the experiences of students, faculty, and staff.

The hourly rate for this position is $33.00.
